Kuruvapur is a famous piligrimage for Datta devotees.. The first incarnation of Lord Dattatreya is Shreepada Vallabha's anthardhan place. It is in Raichur district of Karnataka. It is a great yoga sthan. Shri Vasudevanand saraswathy swamy Maharaj performed penance here. It is an island which is in Krishna river.
So, it is customary to every visitor to travel in Krishna river by a small boat "BUTTI" for 20minutes to reach the other bank of Krishna river. They will charge around 15 to 20 rupees per person.

Important places to visit: Shree padavallabha paduka mandir, Vata vriksha, Tembeswamy's came where swamy lived, Oudumbar vriksha, Sripada mudras etc.,
Conveyance to Kuruvapur:
By Train:
No direct  train facility is there to Kuruvapur. Nearest main railway station is Raichur. Direct trains are available from Vijayawada, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai  to Raichur.
By Bus/Vehicle
From Hyderabad: Direct buses are there from Hyderabad Imlibun bus station to Raichur. We have to get down at Maktal and from there it is just 4 kms to reach the bank of Krishna river. Local autos are available from Maktal to Krishna river.
From Raichur: One has to reach from Raichur to Athkur which is 1.5 hrs journey. State Transport buses are available from Raichur bus station. Private vehicles can also be engaged for to and fro journey.
 Accomodation:
No accomodation is available in Kuruvapur. No lodges are also available in Kuruvapur. It is better to reach the kshetra in the morning hours and have to leave the place by 4.00 p.m.Hotels are also not there to provide any boarding facilities. Devotees can stay in Vithal baba ashram which is on the other bank of  Krishna river. They are providing accomodation for stay and also food arrangements.
Temple timings:
Temple opened in the Early morning with  Kakada harathi, Rudrabhisheka to Padukas  is around 7.00 a.m.
Padukas will be covered with Alankara by 8.30 a.m.. Devotees who wants to have Paduka darshan must reach the temple by 7 a.m. Pallaki seva is around 7.00 p.m.
